 Remark
 Chemical composition of the meat of the silver hake is closer to that of the White Sea navaga, properly frozen, both taste closely the same. This species contains a much greater quantity of fat compared to most members of the cod family. The liver oil contains a little more than 1,000iu/g of vitamin A and about 80y/g of vitamin E. It makes delicious dishes when fried.
